Privacy Policy

The short version

WanderCost does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not sell data. Searches are not tied to any identity.

What we record

When you click through to a booking partner, we record which destination and which partner you clicked, along with the search that produced it (budget, trip length, party size, month, departure airport). We do not record your IP address, browser fingerprint, name or any identifier. These records tell us which destinations people find useful; they cannot be traced back to you.

Cookies and tracking

WanderCost runs a tracking script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, on every page. It exists to credit us when someone books through one of our links, and it may set cookies in your browser. We do not use it to build a profile of you or to sell anything about you.

We also run Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and records which site referred you. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier and does not follow you to any other site — it cannot tell one visit from another, so it cannot build a profile of you. We use it only to see which pages people reach and where they came from.

Some destination pages embed booking widgets from our partners -- a map of places to stay and a list of things to do -- which load their own content and may set their own cookies in the process. It is clearly labelled where it appears, and nothing you typed into our search is sent to it beyond the city it shows.

Booking partners you click through to will also set their own cookies on their own sites. Their privacy policies govern that, not ours.

Third parties

Outbound links go to travel booking companies. Once you leave WanderCost, you are on their site under their terms.
